Summer to Fall Fashion Transition!

The end of summer leading to the beginning of fall has to be my favorite time period. It usually has a good balance of nice warm days and cool  breezy days so there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy! That also gives you the opportunity to play around in your wardrobe by combining some traditionally summer pieces with some of your fall wardrobe pieces. So this week, I’ll be featuring looks with this particular combination.

White Jacket Blue Floral Skirt2

Jackets and pencil skirts are a favorite combination of mine. I love form fitting, figure hugging pieces coupled with the structured sophistication that a jacket provides. It’s like saying, “Hey, I have a little something going on under here but you’re not gonna see it!” lol. This jacket and its fancy zipper design has the right balance of structure and stretch to fit comfortably on days that are cool enough for a light jacket. And because it’s white, it combines nicely with lighter colored summer pieces.

This pencil skirt is lightweight and stretchy so it can be worn on warmer days and can transition into cooler months by simply pairing with tights.

Stay tuned for more looks that I put together combining the best of both weather worlds!

Spring Into Summer in Skirts and Dresses

You may notice over time while following me on this blog, that there a quite a few skirts and dresses in my wardrobe. If it’s warm outside, there’s no need for me to squeeze suffocate myself  jump in those old faithful jeans that I rocked all fall and winter. Dresses and skirts are most comfortable to me. Whether it’s body conscious curve hugging pencil skirts or loose and breezy dresses, there’s nothing better for warmer weather!

You can have fun with bright colors and patterns in skirts as I did with this vibrant blue skirt. I paired it with a graphic tank and colorful printed duster and voila instant springtime look:

Got a date with a hubby or an occasion to be a little dressed up? Well this peplum skirt paired with a sheer jacket and cute heels will do just fine. How long did it take to put this look together. Less than 5 minutes because I’m all about looking good but easy (not as in “easy” easy, but you know, not difficult to put together).

Did I mention that these beauties have stretch!! Oh, yes, we must have some stretch so that it can hug where it needs to hug and not squeeze where mama does not want to be squeezed (on my belly!)

So moving on to dresses, oh how I love a one-hitter-quitter! An item of clothing that you can just throw on and not have to worry about what top matches what bottom?? Yes, give me the dress. And again, the stretchier the material, the less likely it will need to be ironed. Oh boy, I’m revealing too much here now. But seriously, who wants to spend all night getting dressed when you could be having more fun doing the things you’re getting dressed to do! Amirite??

So yeah, stick with me and I’ll teach you my ways! Never again belabor over outfits and looks, spending hours mixing and matching squeezing and wheezing your way into a buttoned up zippered something or other. Find yourself a few well fitting pencil skirts and flowy stretchy dresses and make your life easier while still being cute :).
